I would like to begin this month's newsletter with a very big thank you for the amazing Toys for Tots donations. We collected over 225 toys. What makes this extra special is the “quality” of the toys donated. The Marine's state, year after year, that our clients donate the best toys. This year we received a record number of bicycles and scooters. There will be several hundred happy children, this holiday season, all because of you!

Thank you for supporting KIG through our transition into becoming a full fiduciary RIA firm. When I started in this industry, I was 21 years young. Many of you heard the stories of my wife duct taping the holes in my shoes after knocking on over 1,000 doors. We re-cently lost a client that actually called the cops on me for knocking on her door. Even though I had a permit, she demanded the police officer escort me back to my car. I re-member his car having air conditioning, which I truly enjoyed on a hot summer day, of course my car did not have air. Ironically, she later became a client and we would laugh about that day.

On the same street, a neighbor tried to call me over to discuss a stock position. I quietly turned the corner to avoid entering his driveway. At his funeral, his wife confessed that he never got over the fact that I did not engage in his eagerness to meet me that day. I explained to her, he was washing his car and if I walked toward him my socks would get wet and I would be forced to go home and change. Of course, we laughed and wished he had known. The struggle has become one of the most memorable parts of life’s journey. Today we never want to see our kids struggle or have to take the stairs. There is no eleva-tor to success, we have to take the stairs, start from the ground floor, which probably needs to be swept.

The early clients, always supported me and celebrated the milestones and struggles along the way. Such as my first office, assistant, holiday party, satellite installation and even my first copier. There was a special connection with those that actually opened their door for me and allowed their kitchen table to become the office. Sadly, we have lost most of those clients I had door knocked; however, I carry them in my heart and spirit whenever I cross the office threshold. I thank all of you that have given me an early chance, when all of the odds were stacked against succeeding in our industry at such an early age.

The next chapter is all of you that supported our recent transition from and Independent Firm too becoming Full Fiduciaries. In a business the results are based on profits, in a pro-fession the results are based on customer outcomes. Our journey continues with the cli-ent as our employer and our meaningful purpose.

From the very bottom of our hearts, the KIG Family thanks you for being a part of our lives and our journey to serve you!

Best Regards,
Jack
